My Plant Care Routine

How do I care for all of my plants? I set a routine! Sometimes caring for a lot of plants can feel overwhelming, but once you’ve figured out your routine, it will be easier to care for all of them.

My plant care starts on Sunday - filling a bucket of water and filling it up with Arber plant food.

  • Friday (optional): I fill a bucket of water and let this sit out a full day to allow fluoride and the other minerals in tap water to evaporate. During, fall/winter I will clean out my humidifier with vinegar and water solution.

  • Sunday: Watering, pruning, repotting - my plant care day. I first pour Arber Plant Food into the bucket of water before filling up my watering can. Water each plant until the soil is saturated. All of my plants may not need to be tended to, so I use the finger method before watering and note which plants need to be repotted. The first Sunday of the month, I’ll wash/wipe down leaves.

  • Wednesday: Check on my tropical plants. I’ll re-water these plants if the soil is not saturated, checking with the finger method.

  • Daily: Keep an eye out on my propagation station to make sure the soil isn’t dry. Turn on grow lights and fill the humidifier with water during the fall/winter months.

During the growing season, I’ll store away my humidifier and fertilize the first Sunday of the month.
